DOOM 64 Returns After 23 Years

Bethesda put out a big announcement for fans looking forward to picking up DOOM Eternal early next year. In addition to getting to play through the newest DOOM experience, they’ll also be granted a free copy of one of the series’ rarest iterations: DOOM 64.

Apparently, everyone who pre-orders DOOM Eternal will be granted a copy of DOOM 64 as a pre-order bonus. This is actually kind of incredible, since DOOM 64 has never seen a re-release before now. In years past, the only way one could play it is by either having the actual cartridge or using an emulator. That finally changes this coming March.

DOOM 64 is confirmed to be available as a separate purchase on the Nintendo Switch, but it remains to be seen whether or not the game will be made available apart from DOOM Eternal on the PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Even if it isn’t though, it’s still pretty cool that the game is finally getting a re-release after 23 years.

What do you think of DOOM 64? Are you going to get it as a pre-order or will you just buy it separately? (If at all)
