Banjo and Kazooie Are Coming to Smash!

It’s happening, folks. Once again, a recent trailer has blown my mind…and the minds of pretty much every other gamer in existence. Banjo and Kazooie are coming to Super Smash Bros Ultimate as DLC fighters!

Considering the trailer is a parody of the King K Rool reveal trailer, it’s kind of ironic that my reaction to this news was the same. Disbelief. When videos started spreading online of King K Rool as a playable Smash character, I initially assumed that this was just some modded version of Smash Bros. Surely nothing official. In the same fashion, I believed the same to be true concerning this recent news about everyone’s favorite bird and bear duo.

No way. Banjo and Kazooie…in Super Smash Bros? Don’t be absurd!

And yet, behold, the trailer rests below in all its glory! They’re really here! I just…can’t believe it. Resisting urge…to explode in joy…. There’s even going to be a Spiral Mountain stage! Oh my gosh I’m going to die from excitement right now!

Anyway, if you haven’t yet seen the trailer, please check it out. I mean, it’s right above this paragraph, so there’s no reason not to. It’s truly a work of art. Once again, I am really impressed with Nintendo’s attention to detail. My favorite part was when King K Rool was attacked by the Jinjonator and fell to his doom in a manner not unlike Gruntilda at the end of the first game….

It’s wonderful details like this that show that Nintendo cares about its fans and aren’t just lazily including these characters because they know it will bring in sales. They clearly did their research, and I applaud them for it! Though I am not normally one to buy DLC…I think this is one that I won’t be able to pass up.

It’s weird that the announcement of a character for Super Smash Bros. ended up being the peak of a conference that was pretty great overall, but Banjo and Kazooie are that awesome, I guess.
