The Jackbox Party Pack 9 is finally out for PC and consoles this week, and it’s honestly got me wishing that I had more people to play with! This new collection features 5 new games to enjoy with your friends, one of which being the fourth iteration of Fibbage, the one where you have to make believable lies to fool your friends. I don’t know about you, but that alone has me feeling kind of excited!
The other games included in Jackbox Party Pack 9 include: Quixort, Junktopia, Nonsensory and Roomerang. Kind of hard to tell what these are from the names alone right? So let’s dig into each premise:
- Quixort: This is a team game in which teams have to match answers to questions as they come down a virtual conveyor belt. The answers have to be sorted in the proper order, and have to be grabbed before they hit the floor.
- Junktopia: All players have been turned into frogs! For a chance at being turned back, they need to create backstories for weird items. Only the player who creates the most interesting and valuable item will return to human form.
- Nonsensory: This is a game in which players guess the ranking of the others’ prompts. The one with the best guesses wins.
- Roomerang: Players gotta bust out their acting skills and play out their prompts to the best of their ability in order to avoid getting voted out of Jackbox’s hottest reailty TV show. It’s not necessarily over if you’re voted out though, ‘cause the audience always loves a dramatic twist!
If you’ve never played a Jackbox game, I’d say you’re really missing out. I don’t think I’ve played another party game that manages to inspire laughs quite like this one does. The older entries go on sale fairly frequently, so why not grab one on sale and give it a try? For Jackbox veterans though, well you probably already know what you’re going to do, eh?
Are you a Jackbox fan? If so, which game is your favorite? If not, which one do you think you’d like to try?
