Unless you happened to be at the San Diego Comic-Con’s Dragon Age: The Veilguard panel, which introduced the game’s voice cast, more news about the game just trickled out over on BioWare’s blog And by “news,” I mean mild bits of information about the game’s companions. What’s clear from the article is that these actors put loads of love and energy into their characters, and they each read as being genuinely excited that players will soon witness those efforts in full.
How soon will that be?
Well, if gaming news outlets are anything to go by, it’s speculated that the game may come out in the year’s final quarter, October-December. If I had to place a bet, I’d put my money on November. Both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age: Inquisition were released in November (2009 and 2014, respectively), and it’s typically a big month for games anyway, as the end of any given year tends to see a rise in video game sales.
BioWare and EA continue to tease that more Veilguard reveals are promised over the course of the summer; could players see more of the game in a couple weeks at Gamescom? I’d like to think so, since it’s become one of the year’s preeminent venues for all things video games. I’ll be tuning in with a few specks of hope in tow, as I continue to remain optimistic about Veilguard generally. While the thought of playing the game sooner rather than later is nice, my own gaming plate is full enough right now, and I’m fine with having time to clear it fully before jumping into something new.
