It goes without saying that I enjoy BioWare’s games. True that I’ve not played each and every game the studio has offered since its inception, but I can say that I love their brand of gaming. Deeply narrative, infused with choice, and set in imaginative worlds, BioWare has hit some lasting homeruns with the likes of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age. So, when it goes to Christmas gifts, what does one get for the BioWare buff who has almost everything? Perhaps one or more of the following!
Custom Mass Effect controllers
If your local BioWare enthusiasts might be a little low in the accessories department, why not obtain for the custom Mass Effect controllers? Inspired by one of the most successful sci-fi game franchises of the past decade, these controllers serve as loving reminders of our Commander Shepards, our times spent with some knockout teammates, the days lost to exploring distant planets, and of course, the countless times we’ve saved the universe from extinction. Good times!

Dragon Age: Hard in Hightown
Marking the first of my two literary offerings is “Varric Tethras’” Hard in Hightown, a novel set in the Dragon Age town of Kirkwall, featuring the trials and tribulations of a city guard who’s seen it all and then some. Dragon Age books and graphic novels have taken its fantastical, medieval-esque world to new heights, but Hard in Hightown feels more grounded with its semi-realistic take on Kirkwall’s semi-realistic mean streets. The city guard may not be fighting Darkspawn at every turn, but that doesn’t mean they don’t see their share of adventure and excitement.
Dungeons & Dragons bundle
It you didn’t know it already, BioWare released three super-popular games within the Dungeons & Dragons ecosphere: Baldur’s Gate, Baldur’s Gate II, and Neverwinter Nights. A long time coming, I finally got my hands on the Dungeons & Dragon bundle (for Switch & PC), a compilation that contains enhanced editions of these three games along with two non-BioWare titles (Planescape: Torment and Icewind Dale). I knew well of Neverwinter Nights’ devoted following, not to mention that of the two elders statesmen Baldur’s Gate titles, and they alone make this bundle a must-have for BioWare and RPG fans alike.

“The Art of” Mass Effect books
Like with Dragon Age, Mass Effect has expanded beyond the original trilogy and Andromeda into the literary world, which brings me to my second book pick of the list…or rather, books. Art books, to be specific. There are currently three “art of” books for the series, two that focus on the original trilogy and one for Andromeda, and they are all awesome. These books contains a wealth of insights into the visual development of Mass Effect, from its characters and vehicles to its planets and star systems. Any one of the books, or really, all three, would make for excellent gifts to anyone who’s become invested in all the delights the games have to offer.
Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic bundle
Why not give your BioWare fan some Knights of the Old Republic action on the go with the Nintendo Switch bundle featuring the first and second games? Why not, indeed! I almost don’t go anywhere without my Switch these days, and I have since fallen in love with having classic games at my fingertips; all the better if they’ve been compiled! While one could argue as to which is the better game here, we wouldn’t even be talking about Obsidian’s KOTOR sequel had it not been for BioWare’s work on the first. Knights of the Old Republic is a seminal RPG that maintains a loyal fandom. If your BioWare buddy hasn’t taken part in all its light side/dark side glory, then gift them, this bundle post haste!

As a big Inquisition fan, that Dragon Age book looks great! Might add that to my own list… 🙂

Totally recommend! It’s a solid read that’s all the better if you picture Varric frantically writing it in his Kirkwall apartment. 🙂

Surprisingly well from what I’ve seen! I don’t have the bundle myself yet and have only played a portion of the first game on a friend’s OLED Switch. The game runs smoothly, and looks great. I’ve read that the games should run fine on older Switch models (what I have), so I’ve plans to pick up this bundle in the near future.
