Apparently, Metroid Prime Remastered Finished Development a Long Time Ago

According to TheGamer.com, there’s some evidence floating around that Metroid Prime Remastered finished development all the way back in 2021. See, it seems that Nintendo submitted the game for classification to the German Rating Organization in July of 2021. If this is true, then that means Nintendo has been sitting on the game since then. Also, it seems the same is true for Fire Emblem Engage.

You know, I’m not sure how to feel about this. On the one hand, we did eventually get these game and are enjoying them now. Nothing wrong with that. On the other hand, it seems kind of…wrong to just sit on a finished game when you know fans are clamoring for more from whatever series it’s from. I’m tempted to call Nintendo scummy for this, but I don’t know. I mean, it’s not like they told us it existed and just held it hostage. As for Fire Emblem though, I wonder why so many months had to pass between announcement and release if it was done before we’d even heard about it. Odd to say the least.

What do you think of all this? Should games always be released as soon as they’re done? How do you feel about Nintendo’s actions here?

Knowing the situation with the Advance Wars remake, there seems to be a bit of a trend here with the big N.
