The Chant gets a Release Date

The Chant, a new horror game from developer Brass Token, got a release date just a few days ago. It’ll be ready to spook and scare as of November 4th. I gotta say, for a game from a relatively unknown indie developer, this is actually looking pretty interesting?

The Chant seems to star a newly inducted member of some sort of 70’s-era new age cult. Cults are already no joke in real life, so this is an idea that’s just plain scary on its own. Things gotta go a bit further in horror games though, and it’s looking like this new member is going to quickly regret her decision.

Judging by this trailer, it’s looking like she’s going to have to deal with a lot of blood and murder over the course of her trials, but here’s hoping they go for more of a psychological thriller angle than simple slasher shock value. It would be a real missed opportunity to have a cult game without really exploring the mental side of things.

What do you think of the Chant? Think you’ll pick it up?
