Lots of New Video Released for Nier Replicant ver. 1.22474487139

The Nier remake: Nier Replicant ver. 1.22474487139 (referred to as “Neir Remake” from here on), is only a couple months away from its April 23 release date. This probably wouldn’t have been all that exciting back in 2016, but then that was before Nier Automata hit the gaming scene. That game really stuck a chord with many gamers out there (myself included), so now this remake of the first Nier is actually rather exciting. I know that the gameplay is different from that of Automata, but I’m still looking forward to more of that bleak, slightly obtuse Nier atmosphere. This new batch of videos only makes the wait harder!

Nier fans and the Nier-curious can visit several locations and characters alongside the protagonists over the course of these videos. They’ll visit the desert kingdom of “Façade,” fight alongside Wiess (the living book) and Kaine (a fierce warrior with an…interesting sense of fashion). Fans can also watch the group visit Barren Temple and watch them engage a swarm of sentient cubes in a boss fight. Why are they here and why must they fight these cubes? Who knows? Heck, we probably won’t really understand in context either. After all, this is the Nier Remake, and Nier has never been all that straightforward. Seriously, the whole series is a spin-off of Drakengard, and it’s not even following the canon continuity but rather one specific (non-official) ending. Crazy right?

I suppose it doesn’t matter though. I’m still looking forward to finally giving the first Nier a try. How about you?

What do you think of the Nier series? Have you played Nier Automata or are you thinking of jumping-in with this one?
