Well, it looks like the fan response to the Crash N’ Sane Trilogy actually managed to impress Activision, because it’s just been revealed that we’re now getting a direct sequel to Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped. Yup, that’s right. Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is a sequel to the very last PlayStation 1 Crash Bandicoot. As for the other games…what other games?
This really does look like a sequel to Crash Bandicoot 3 too. All the characters introduced after the original trilogy appear to be absent, as are all the gameplay gimmicks that defined all the post-PSOne Crash Bandicoot games. This time around, Cortex and N. Gin are back and causing trouble across time (again) and it’s up to Crash and Coco to stop whatever it is Cortex is plotting this time around. It also looks like we’ll be getting to see more masks this time around, meaning that Aku Aku and Uka Uka aren’t the only talking tiki masks out there. Are they equally as powerful too? Guess we’ll find out.
It also looks like we’ll be getting to play as Cortex this time around too. Will we be helping them work against Crash and co. or will we be helping him get things set up and ready for Crash to…uh, crash through. At any rate, the game looks fantastic, the gameplay and art look true to the classic series, and it’s Toys For Bob developing it, so there’s every reason to be confident that this’ll be fantastic. I, for one, can’t wait!
Are you excited for Crash Bandicoot 4? Think you’ll jump into it right away?

Even though I never played the original Crash Bandicoot games on the PS1, I became an instant fan of the series thanks to the N.Sane Trilogy. So yeah, I’m super excited about Crash Bandicoot 4! I can’t wait to play it!

I’m psyched that they’re actually continuing the original storyline! Whoever thought that would happen?
