It’s been a while since we’ve seen anything even remotely close to a new BioShock. It’s not too surprising of course; Kevin Levine did close his studio (Irrational Games) after completing work on BioShock Infinite, but it’s still kind of odd since 2K still owns the rights to the series. Whatever the case, we’re in for a long wait before a new BioShock game is announced. However, it turns out that we don’t need to wait so long for something similar.

Close to the Sun is a first-person horror game that takes place in an alternate version of the world in which Nikola Tesla succeeded in getting the world to widely adopt and explore his technologies. The game takes places aboard the absolutely massive Helios research vessel where, as in all horror experiences, something has gone terribly wrong.
It doesn’t look like there’s anything resembling BioShock’s plasmid powers or gunplay, but that shouldn’t matter so long as the psychological experience hits home; A nice story twist wouldn’t be bad either. Look for it on Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One later in 2019..
What‘s your take on this? Think it’s worth checking out?
