Rumor: Gen 8 Starter Pokemon Leaked

It would be an understatement to say that anticipation for Nintendo’s Switch version of Pokemon is running high. Gamers haven’t gotten a home console-based Pokemon game since Pokemon XD: Gale of Darkness released on the Gamecube almost 13 years ago! Even then, it wasn’t the mainline series entry fans had been hoping for. Nintendo has stated that it intends to make the Switch version the full and true console Pokemon game fans have been waiting for, so of course Pokemon enthusiasts have been scrounging for any tidbit they can find out about the game ever since it was announced.

UPDATE (2/21/18) – These “leaks” have indeed been proven to be a hoax. Chances were already good that they were fake, but it was fun while it lasted. Hopefully the platypus still makes it in somehow.

These images recently started floating around the ‘net, and rumor has it that they are in fact concept drawings for the upcoming games starter Pokemon! None of this has been confirmed yet, and knowing Nintendo they absolutely won’t confirm it until the monsters show up in the game’s eventual trailers. It must also be considered that even if these are genuine, they very well might not be used now that the Meowth is out of the bag. These designs do look fun though, so hopefully these monsters will end up seeing the light of day when the game eventually releases.

What do you think of these “leaked” concepts? Which would you say is best? (If your answer is anything other than the water platypus, you’re wrong. 😀 )
