Four New Characters Announced for Soul Calibur VI

More and more details are trickling out about the newest entry in the Soul Calibur series now that the official announcement has been made. In the most recent announcement for the game, Bandai Namco revealed four more characters on the game’s initial roster and even introduced a series newcomer by the name of Grøh. He appears to have some sort of dual-nature to his character that carries over into the fighting style displayed in his character introduction.

Those joining Grøh on the roster are all warriors returning as series favorites. Nightmare, Xianghua, and Kilik are all now confirmed for the game’s starting roster of fighters. You can check out each of their introductions in the trailer below.

Little has been said about what sorts of features fans can expect from the game, but it is nice to see a mix of favorites and new faces. So we can at least expect a little variety in terms of fighters. Personally, I’d like to see a return of the weapon system from Soul Calibur II. Equipping different weapons to my favorite heroes was a blast, and its starting to feel kind of weird seeing only Nightmare/Siegfried wielding the series’ titular swords. Here’s hoping we get even more good news in the coming weeks.

(Also, it would be great if Kilik wasn’t super spammy this time.)
