The newest PS4 system update is finally out, and it’s bringing some cool stuff with it. The PS4 experience has only gotten better over the years, and this latest update serves as a good reminder of why. “Nobunaga” introduces several quality of life features to the system, including the ability to better manage family user accounts, further customization of your notifications, and improved Twitch streaming functionality. Messages with hyperlinks will now display a little preview as well.
With this update, Sony will also be rolling out a feature known as “Team Tournaments”. Players using this feature will be able to form and join teams, and then compete against others for real prizes and bragging rights! Only four games will be available when the feature officially releases on October 5th, but players can expect more to show as time goes on. Those interested in jumping on board immediately will be able to play in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, World of Tanks, and Mantis Burn Racing. Additional details can be found in the events section of the PS4 menu.
Finally, the quick menu now features a clock, the ability to leave parties and check download progress. The update also feature a host of smaller quality of life changes. Make sure to dig around and see what else you can do.
Have you had a chance to play around with any of these new features yet? What do you think of them?
