Sonic Forces Unveils Casino Forest!

Sonic Forces is looking better and better with each new reveal. This time the spotlight is on classic Sonic and his newly revealed Casino Forest stage!

(Video by YouTube user: Sonic the Hedgehog)

The zone seems to be a bit dark overall, but one could argue that that just makes all the brightly-colored neon decorations stand out even more. The stage also seems to be sporting all the old sound effects, something fans of the original Casino Night Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will greatly appreciate. Even the music sounds like something taken from one of the old Genesis games. If all of the classic Sonic stages feature this kind of nostalgia trip, then Sonic fans might just be in for another treat this year.

To be honest, I was a bit dubious of Sonic Forces when it was first revealed. However, after seeing all the new footage and playing it at PAX West, I found that it might just be worthwhile after all.

What do you think of Sonic Forces? Do you think it’ll be able to meet expectations after the surprise hit that was Sonic Mania?

  1. It looks super fun and I like the throwback feel to the level. I wonder how much pressure the developers feel knowing that Sonic Mania was such a success.

Interesting thing to note from that video: I didn’t see any enemies, which is a little odd. I wonder if this is a developer build to simply show the level off?

Yeah, that was weird. Still, act 1 of the original Casino Night Zone didn’t have enemies. Maybe they’re doing something similar here.

I think the level design looks somewhat bland… just a problem overall though.

Overall for this game or for sonic games in general?

Just this game. Looks a bit like Sonic Colors’ level design
