Nintendo confirms SNES Classic pre-orders to open this month

Nintendo recently confirmed that the SNES classic will be available for pre-order later this month. In a move to address the recent confusion surrounding pre-orders for the already popular SNES classic, Nintendo announced on their Facebook page that the console would indeed be made available for pre-order in late August.

In the event that you miss the chance to pre-order, don’t worry. There’s still hope! In the same post, Nintendo stressed that “a significant amount” of additional systems will be shipped to stores in time for launch day. It also seems to imply that they intend to continue supplying stores throughout the rest of the year as well. So even if you’re unable to snag yourself an SNES Classic early or even on launch day, there’s no need to panic yet. If Nintendo is able to deliver on this statement, then there will be plenty of chances yet to come.

What do you think of the SNES Classic? What about Nintendo’s consistent inability to keep up with the demand for its physical goods?

  1. On paper it really looks like Nintendo has learned from the chaos that was the NES Classic. I’m still curious to see if it ultimately ends up this way but at least we finally have some good news.

Yeah, the do at least seem intent on doing a better job of it. Continued Switch shortages have me feeling skeptical though.
