Our last Listmas category before our wildcard week revolves around those characters we’d most want to spend the holidays with, whether it be due to our inkling that they’d be good gift-givers or just a lot of fun to be around. I actually wrote a similar post back in 2022 if you want to check it out, but this time, I’m going to be even more focused on what would make these guys great Christmas companions.
- Sun (FNAF: Security Breach) – The very first character that came to mind is also one of my all-time favorites, the cheery and anxious ball of energy known simply as Sun. This celestial/jester-themed animatronic spends his days entertaining and looking after children in the Superstar Daycare. And I’d like to think that if we ever managed to find some time to spend as just the two of us, we’d have a great time playing games, drinking Fizzy Faz, and making arts and crafts together. Am I a bit old for arts and crafts? Yes. But if a 7-foot tall robot is allowed to spend his free time drawing with glitter glue, I’m not sure why I can’t! Not only would Sun be a great companion for making some Christmas decorations, I’d think he’d also enjoy making handmade presents for his very favorite best friends. They might look like something a 5-year old made, but it’s the thought that counts, and I’d bet Sun would be very thoughtful. I’d just need to leave before the lights go out or his Moon side would insist on putting me to sleep.

- Glamrock Freddy (FNAF: Security Breach) – Yes, another character from the exact same game, but the Pizzaplex from which these two hail is inhabited by animatronics who specialize in giving kids the very best birthday parties around. As such, I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to think that these robots would also just be great for any festive event. Aside from Sun, Glamrock Freddy is most definitely the best option, as he’s kind and gentle, would protect his friends with his life (well, he’s not exactly alive, but…), and has a chest compartment meant for storing things like birthday cakes and pinatas. Who doesn’t want a friend who can hide your Christmas presents in his chest cavity?

- Suzie Glatz (Jenny LeClue: Detectivu) – Sometimes, it pays to have rich friends. And Suzie, Jenny’s cousin, certainly fits the bill. Suzie would be a great gift giver thanks to her enormous wealth. But before you call me greedy, Suzie is also kind and a bit of a genius, so she’d not only be a pleasant addition to any Christmas get-together, but interesting, as well, if she was inclined to tell us a bit about all those inventions she’s been working on. Oh, and she might also be able to help me with my sad fashion sense.

- Link (The Legend of Zelda) – Ah yes, the hero who has saved Hyrule countless of times certainly deserves to be invited, provided he’s not currently on yet another adventure to stop Ganondorf. Link is not very talkative, so you know he’s not going to monopolize any conversations. He’s also been practicing his cooking skills over the last few games, so perhaps he can help with the Christmas meal. But most importantly of all, Link tends to have useful abilities, as he’s often accompanied by some sort of magical musical instrument that can control the time or the weather. Perhaps he can ensure we have a snowy Christmas or maybe he can even slow down time so that our Christmas festivities can be enjoyed for as long as possible.

- Princess Peach (Super Mario Bros) – One character on this list who’s going to be richer than Suzie is most certainly someone of royal birth, so we’ve got another assurance of good gifts for all! Princess Peach is as sweet as her name, making her an excellent lady to have around during any get-together, and she’d certainly have plenty of interesting tales to tell considering all the numerous times she’s been kidnapped by Bowser! Plus, perhaps she could help me make a delicious Christmas cake while Link is busy roasting that turkey.
