Ubisoft Reveals Next Assassins Creed, Still No Ninjas

Late last week, Ubisoft revealed the next Assassin’s Creed game: Assassin’s Creed Mirage. this time players will be doing their thing as Basim Ibn Ishaq, a side character from Assassin’s Creed Valhalla otherwise known as “Loki”. The game will apparently be focusing on his early life and will seemingly take place in a more Middle Eastern setting (could we perhaps be returning to Istanbul?), and will supposedly bring back some of the infiltration and stealth-oriented gameplay that the series built its reputation on. Why it ever went away in the first place is beyond me, but at least it’s supposedly coming back.

Aside from this though, I still think that it’s kind of a amazing that there still hasn’t been a mainline game that takes place in Japan during the time of the ninja. You’d think a series like Assassin’s Creed would go for that immediately, but here we are. To be 100% honest though, I don’t think I’d go in for a modern Assassin’s Creed game no matter what the setting was. It’s just abandoned too much of what I feel made it fun and special in the beginning, you know? So perhaps I’m not really one to be talking about what it should or shouldn’t be doing.

What about you? Are you interested in this new game or are you mostly done with the series by now?
