For a very long time now, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game has been one of those select few titles that simply cannot be played. The digital-only game was taken down from digital storefronts in 2014 (though I could’ve sworn it stopped being sold before then), which means that unless you kept it on your hard drive (or choose to acquire it “elsewhere”) there’s currently no way to play this game. The takedown originally occurred due to licensing issues, and it’s those same issues that’ve kept it down…until now that is. That’s right, Scott Pilgrim is coming back, and it’ll be here next month!
It looks like Ubisoft has acquired all the necessary licenses to bring the game back, and it’s bringing it to every available platform. As of January, you’ll be able to play Scott Pigrim vs. The World: The Game – Complete Edition no matter what your platform of choice is. This is especially awesome to see since games lost to licensing limbo almost never get another chance in the sun.
I played the game back when it came out in 2010, and I have to say it was pretty good for a classi, beat-em-up style game! The presentation is great, the combat feels good, the sound design is on point and the music is out of this world! Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game isn’t the greatest thing ever, but it is good and definitely didn’t deserve to get banished to the nether for 4+ years. Definitely check it out if you get a chance!
What do you think of this? Are you excited to see this game make a comeback?
