Tomb Raider games have always been solo experiences, and that’s held true with the most recent entry in the reboot series: Shadow of the Tomb Raider. However, it appears that’s changed with the arrival of the game’s first DLC challenge tomb: “The Forge.” In this new challenge tomb, two players can work together to solve tomb raiding puzzles for the very first time, and they can do so in a number of ways.
The Forge and the challenge tombs following it are built to reward quick coordination and cooperation. The better two players work together, the more options they’ll find for progressing through the tomb. Eventually, they’ll be able to determine the most effective path through and be able to compete on the online leaderboards for high scores in the various new modes attached to these DLC challenge tombs.
Of course, cooperative play and new modes aren’t the only additions coming with “the Forge.” Solo players can also enjoy the tomb on their own, and they can look forward to unlocking a new gun, outfit, and skill for Lara to use on her adventures. Additionally, scoring well in the tomb trials will award players with in-game currency that they can then take back into the main game to help Lara become better equipped. In short, there are plenty of reasons to to dive into this one.
What do you think of co-op in Tomb Raider? What about Shadow of the Tomb Raider in general?
