Ni No Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom Delayed to March 23rd

Ni No Kuni fans got a bit of bad news earlier this week when it was announced that Ni No Kuni  2: Revenant Kingdom would be delayed to March 23, 2018. According to developer Level 5’s president/CEO, Akihiro Hino, the cause of the delay is the developer’s desire to deliver a more polished and worthwhile product. He specifically cite two new modes that will be shipping with the game, “Skirmish” mode and “Kingdom” mode so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to think that Level 5 thinks these additions are what need a bit more time in the oven.

Delays are disappointing, but one has to admit that a delay is better than rushing the product out the door. There are far too many developers guilty of pushing out unfinished products these days, so a delay for the sake of quality is almost refreshing. Kind of funny, don’t you think?

Are you looking forward to the next chapter of Ni No Kuni? What do you think of this delay?

I’m pretty excited for this game, since I really enjoyed the first Ni no Kuni. I appreciate the fact that they’re going to give the game more time before it’s released.

A lot of games could benefit from more time in development. I recently played some of the DLC for Little Nightmares and ran into a decent number of minor glitches. I would have preferred to wait longer and get a product that works without flaws.

I’m so sad now I won’t be able to play it till mid year when I have time off University. But all in all as long as the game comes out and is amazing I will be happy, if they feel they need more time I respect that.
