Remedy’s announcement that Alan Wake would be pulled from online stores caused something of a minor stir earlier this month. Fans of the game worried that their ability to re-download would be jeopardized, while those who hadn’t yet had the chance to play Remedy’s Stephen King-inspired thriller scrambled to pick it up while they still could. The game was indeed pulled from both Xbox Live and Steam on May 15th, and all figured that the story would end there. Well, there’s been a new chapter added to this tale of licensing issues and horror stories made reality. The game is back up for sale!

That’s right! Amazingly enough, Alan Wake is available for Xbox One and Xbox 360 through the Xbox Marketplace. At the time of this writing, there is no explanation available in regard to why the game is suddenly available for purchase again, and the game is still not available on Steam. Still, this is great news for those who missed their chance to experience it before the game was taken down in mid-May.
Have you had a chance to play Alan Wake? What did you like/dislike most about it?
