Croc’s World 1, 2, & Run: Demo Reviews

Not to be confused with the equally obscure Croc series by Argonaut Software, I’ll be reviewing all three Croc’s World demos that I could find because they’re all pretty much the same and very, very short.  Croc’s World 1, 2, and Run are very colorful platformers starring a crocodile.  Powerups include a helmet for breaking stone blocks and rocks that you can throw at enemies.  Cute as it is, it doesn’t seem like a whole lot of effort was put into these games.  Why do I feel this, you might ask?  Well, you see, all three games share these very same powerups, similar backgrounds, and all three of them…that’s right…ALL of them…feature only one song.  A rather annoying song…

I mean, it’s definitely cute…

Like I said, the first two games are pretty much identical and have you platforming through environments that take about a minute to complete.  Honestly, they really should have just been part of the same game.  You can jump on enemies, but there isn’t really any challenge.  The Run game changes things up a bit by having you constantly moving forward, which makes things ever so slightly more difficult.  Other than that, it’s pretty much the same gameplay…except I had to wall jump a few times.  Mind-blowing!

I’ll be honest, based on the demos, these don’t seem like very quality games, and I largely haven’t heard many good things about them online, either.  The first game ranges from $4.99-5.99 on consoles, the second is $5.99 on consoles, and Run is $5.99-6.99 on consoles (the Switch version is always cheaper), but you can also get all three games for free on mobile.  The first two games seem to last about 2 hours each, while Run has about 3 hours of content.
