Happy Spooktober!

If it’s October (and, hey, it is!), then that means only one thing around these parts…it’s Spooktober! If the name didn’t give it away, Spooktober is our annual celebration in October of all things scary in games. In past years, we’ve themed our Spooktober event, but not this year. This year, we’re presenting a more casual version of Spooktober, one without limits. We might post rants and raves, introspective editorials, auspicious listicles, musical musings, unforgettable moments, or anything in between! We may highlight a recent favorite horror game or reminisce about a classic. We might focus on an aspect of a game that gave us the heebie jeebies, or we might discuss a scary game that kept us on edge from start to finish. Maybe we’ll focus on favorite plots that filled us with dread, creepy characters that were off their rockers, or the scariest bosses we’ve ever encountered. From traditional horror to psychological drama, survival shenanigans to jump scares, supernatural spectacles to cosmic commotions, any spooky game is the perfect spooky game for Spooktober!

No matter if the games are creepy or cautious, bizarre or brazen, skin-scrawling or spine-tingling, this is the best time of year to enjoy a good horror game. We hope you’ll join us this month for our horror game celebration and share some of your own stories along the way.

And so, with Spooktober 2025 commenced, let’s get on with the scares!
