As most JRPG fans are sure to know by now, Atlus has once again managed to knock it oout of the park with its new IP: Metaphor Re: Fantazio. Sure, it might be Persona or Shin Megami Tensei by yet another name, but hey, it works. The thing is, though, the game is absolutely massive, with hours of main and side content to explore. Those who’d rather not take all that on by themselves are in luck, though, as Future Press is producing a full guide for it.

While not yet available for purchase, the guide can now be pre-ordered and will sell for about $55. Indeed, that’s quite hefty for a guide book, but it looks like its maker is doing its best to make it worth the high asking price. The guide will cover literally everything in Metaphor Re: Fantazio. Every quest, collectible, character, area and so on will be catalogued and explained over almost 600 pages. The guide will also come with a poster, include a world map and will be printed on fingerprint-free paper, so buyer won’t have to worry about marking up their pages.

Nice as it is though, this is probably something best suited for collectors, I think. I mean, $50 is enough for another full game (on sale), you know? At the same time, it’d be nice to have a companion book with the game instead of constantly having to run to YouTube or Reddit in search of answers, so maybe there is enough value here after all. Tough call, yeah?
