The remake series for Final Fantasy VII has, by most accounts, been progressing quite smoothly. It’s been a many, many years long endeavor at this point, but the results have in fact been quite good up until now. It’s even more encouraging to see each entry get better, with Rebirth being quite superior to Remake. And now, the series’ director and producer are encouraging fans to let their expectations for part three grow higher still.
Over the course of the video above, remake series director Naoki Hamaguchi and producer Yoshinori Kitase offer several comments about the next installment of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series. Few concrete details are given of course, but they do say that the world will open up even more and that the Highwind will play a very important role. They also said that fans should expect a satisfying conclusion that’ll leave an enduring impression.
These could just be the usual sorts of comments meant to hype fans up for the next game, but it’s a little unusual to to see this much confidence behind them. Usually it’s be enough to just confirm something like the Highwind or say that you like the ending, but they’ve gone so far as to tell fans that they should be even more excited than they already are. Pretty bold in this age of half-baked launches and PR wildfires, I must say.
Personally though, I think they can pull it off. This remake series has been run as a company-wide passion project from Day 1, and that’s shown in the quality of the two games we’ve gotten so far. So yeah, I’d say that chances are good that part three really will be something special.
How do you feel about the Final Fantasy Remake series so far? Do you think they have what it takes to finish as strongly as fans hope?
