The LA Noire Guys Are Working On a New Project

More than a decade after L.A. Noire released and the implosion of its developer, Team Bondi, shortly thereafter, it seems that some of the team has reassembled and is now working on a new project. The new game, called “Snowden House,” is apparently going to be a psychological thriller that is also, oddly enough, going to be set in 1940’s Los Angeles. Hmm…

As reported by Twisted Voxel, most of the information about Snowden House is coming from Australian composer Freyja Garbett, who’s supposedly producing music for the project. On her Instagram, she said that she’s writing music for a new psychological thriller from the original creators of LA Noire. She also mentions that the projects is huge and that she’s apparently been working with a jazz band for at least a portion of the music.

While unconfirmed, speculation has it that Snowden House is being developed at Brendan Mcnamara’s studio. Mcnamara was one of the heads of Team Bondi during the development of L.A. Noire and was, at the time, the face of the controversies surrounding the game and its troubled development. The full story can be found in this old IGN article, but the short version is that Team Bondi was decidedly not a fun studio to work at. Also, both of L.A. Noire’s publishers, first Sony then later Rockstar, were very unhappy with just how grossly overbudget Team Bondi went in terms of both time and money.

If it is indeed Mcnamara at the head of this project, then one cannot help but wonder if history won’t repeat itself here. Hopefully not, but I guess we’ll see.

How did you like L.A. Noire back in the day? Do you think that the guys behind this new game can overcome their past?
