Check Out Some New Gameplay For Dragon’s Dogma 2!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 finally drops this Friday, but fans can check out some more of what they’re in for right now thnks to some new gameplay posted to YouTube by the game’s director: Hideaki Itsuno. Those who played the original probably already know what to expect, but everyone else should check out the video below:

Video from YouTube channel: PlayStation Japan

The commentary is entirely in Japanese, but it’s basically discussing what’s being shown on screen. The video shows a lot of what players can do in terms of movement and combat, as well as a little of what party management is like. It’s all stuff that was jin the original Dragon’s Dogma, just more refined and in some cases expanded.

I actually had the chance to talk to Itsuno-san at Tokyo Game Show 2023 about Dragon’s Dogma 2, and the basic gist to a lot of my questions was that he wanted to make everything better. That is he wanted to add systems, features and details that he’d always been wanting to add in the first game, but couldn’t due to time and technological constraints.

In other words, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is probably going to be as close to his original vision for the IP as it possibly can. The man wa ssuper excited to talk about it, and the demo was fun to play, so I’m sure fantasy RPG fans will really enjoy it when it comes out later this week.

Are you looking forward to Dragon’s Dogma 2? Did you play the first game? What are you hoping to see in the sequel?
