The Duck’s Most Anticipated Games of 2024

Now that 2023 is over, we have another year’s worth of games to look forward to.  To be honest, I don’t have a whole lot of games I’m particularly excited about, but of the few on my list, at least there’s some nice variety, including a remake of one of my favorite RPGs, a relaxing game for cat-lovers, and an atmospheric horror game.

  • Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door Remake: I’ve got several reasons why I’m super excited for this remake.  One, The Thousand-Year Door is from Paper Mario’s golden age and probably the best in the franchise.  And two, GameCube games are probably the most difficult games from Nintendo’s catalog to get ahold of.  I’m very excited to get to play this fun and quirky RPG on a modern console, and I hope that it will sell well enough to convince Nintendo that, yes, the old Paper Mario formula really is still in demand.
  • Little Kitty, Big City: This indie game is all about a kitty that gets lost in the city and needs to find its way home.  This just looks like a really cute and chill game, and I simply can’t pass up an opportunity to play as a cute kitty cat!

  • Little Nightmares 3: Being a big fan of this unique horror franchise, I really look forward to the third installment, featuring two kids, Low and Alone, who must travel through a place called The Nowhere.  I’ve always enjoyed Little Nightmares for its unique monsters and unsettling atmosphere, and I’m curious to see how the third game builds upon the series’ rather…vague lore.
