Glyph is a rather obscure indie game where you play as a scarab beetle. The demo covers three stages of increasingly sparse platforms, over which you can traverse by rolling like a ball, jumping up walls, and flying short distances. You can really pick up speed in this game and cross some mighty impressive distances, which is both the demo’s biggest pro and its biggest con.
I can’t find much about this game outside the demo, aside from the fact that a lot of people seemed to like it more than I did. And I could see how this game could be fun if you got really good at it. I watched just a short portion of Glyph’s later gameplay, and the player was moving between these small, distant platforms with such precision, it was quite an impressive sight indeed.

As for me, I didn’t have much fun with this demo, which took me roughly 40 minutes to complete because I was absolute garbage at it. Controlling a rolling ball is difficult enough, and when paired with how fast you can move, it’s very easy to get out of control and misjudge your jumps. I also wish there were a few more checkpoints so I would lose less progress whenever I died, but at least you keep any coins you collected.
If you enjoy precise platforming and a game that would probably be pretty satisfying with sufficient practice, Glyph is available on the Switch and PC for $19.99, though I’ve seen it go on sale for $1.99.
