Q Remastered: Demo Review

Q Remastered is a unique puzzle game that allows you to draw various shapes that fall to the ground due to the forces of gravity.  Although it seems like there’s very little you can do with such a feature, this brief demo of 10 stages had an interesting variety of puzzles to solve.  At first, they start out super easy as they teach you the mechanics of the game.  Touch the ball with your doodle or make the ball roll to the left side of the screen.  Using what I had learned, I was then able to get the ball to fall out of the cup by drawing a hook with a heavy base that pulled the entire thing over.

I did, however, get stuck on two of the puzzles.  The first puzzle that stumped me was the one where you must get five of the little balls into the bowl below.  And the last was a puzzle that required you to get the ball out of a very deep pit.  (Now that I look back, I wonder if I could have just knocked it over again.)  The full game is advertised to have over 1200 stages, which is quite generous, but also very overwhelming!

I’m so smart!

Now, you might wonder, just as I did, how they could possibly have that many puzzles or interesting ways to solve them.  Well, when browsing the game’s Steam page, I found screenshots and a brief video showcasing all sorts of interesting looking puzzles (such as trying to get a guy to sit in a chair or flipping a turtle back onto its belly?), and I also watched a video showing various unique uses for your doodles, including a wrecking ball!  Hmm, perhaps if I returned to the demo, I could utilize a similar method that uses a scooper to push those five balls out of their container and into the bowl…

Apparently, drawing 5 balls doesn’t count…

Q Remastered seems like a deceptively simple, but very unique, puzzle game that requires one to think outside the box and a whole lot of creativity.  The game is available on Steam for $8.99 and Nintendo Switch for $6.80 (though I don’t see a price for it on Google Play).
