No Man’s Sky Adds Giant Mechs!

It’s probably more than safe to say that Hello Games has completely turned No Man’s Sky around now. The game had the absolute worst of beginnings, but they stuck with it over the past several years and turned it into something quite good. It’s admirable dedication to be sure, especially when one considers that they’re still adding stuff to the game. Stuff like like giant mechs, for example.

These “Exo-Mechs” allow players to do exactly what one would want to do in a giant robot suit: stomp and fly around like the unstoppable hulk that you are! They were introduced as part of No Man’s Skys’s most recent free update. Using these, players can more safely traverse hostile environments, mine resources and basically enjoy their worlds from a somewhat higher perspective. Sure, it’s not a total game-changer or anything, but it’s still great to see stuff like this coming to a game even four years after its initial launch date.

What do you think of this? Is it enough to get you to jump back into your copy of No Man’s Sky? Is it a selling point?

I really wanted to love No Man’s Sky when it launched, but it just wasn’t ready for release. I don’t blame Hello Games for that at all.

Instead of pumping hundreds of hours into it, as I expected to, I abandoned it in favour of Fallout 4. I have no regrets, but I think the time is drawing near to get into No Man’s Sky in a big way, if only I didn’t have such a monster backlog to take care of…

Maybe someday then. The backlog is always a killer to stuff like this

It is because in theory I could get stuck on a game like NMS for a long time. These days I prefer something with a beginning and end in the 30-50 hours max kinda range. I know NMS does have a story mode or whatever, but just look at what you’re dealing with there, potentially quintillions of planets to explore?? They keep adding content too šŸ˜† are you enjoying the mechs?

Ah I see. Just don’t want to get sucked-in, eh? As for me, I don’t actually play NMS. I just follow the news and talk about it when something interesting happens. I must admit that the game’s got my attention. Dunno when I’ll actually jump into it though.
